The Maintenance Examination is held annually during the AANEM Annual Meeting. For certificates issued in 2002, this is 1 year prior to the expiration of your certificate in 2012. Examination Format
The examination is a half-day, proctored examination containing approximately 125 multiple-choice questions, which test cognitive knowledge relevant to the clinical experience of electrodiagnostic medicine. Emphasis is placed on the diagnosis, management, and prevention of disease. All questions are written by ABEM certified electrodiagnostic medicine physicians.
