To be accepted, the application form, application
fee, and examination fee must be received by the application deadline
date (November 30, for the early bird rate, or December 31, with payment
of the regular examination fee). The completed application should include:
Following receipt of the application, reference
forms are sent by the ABEM Executive Office to the candidate’s
supervising training director(s). If this physician is not an ABEM Board
Diplomate, a reference form is also sent to a Board Diplomate familiar
with the candidate’s training program and current activities in
electrodiagnostic medicine. The applicant may opt to submit the names
of additional physician references in support of his or her application,
and forms will be sent to those individuals. No decision regarding admissibility
to the examination will be made until the physicians, from whom references
are requested, have replied.
It will be at least 10 weeks
before a candidate receives information regarding his or her application.
Applications received near the deadline may take longer because of the
volume received at that time.
