Requirements for Eligibility

In addition to the information listed in the documentation on the Eligibility Documents page, candidates must satisfy ONE of the following eligibility options (both a and b listed below each option) on or before the application deadline:


Option 1

     a. Completion of at least 12 months of full-time (or equivalent), practical, on-the-job training in nerve conduction studies (NCSs). This period of training must be performed under the direct supervision of a neurologist or physiatrist experienced in electrodiagnostic medicine, preferably an ABEM Diplomate.

     b. Additionally, the candidate must have experienced a minimum of 250 patient encounters where NCSs were performed on separate occasions.  Please provide the name and email for the physician whom you worked with for these studies.  A case log is not required.


Option 2

     a. Successful completion of an END/Neurodiagnostic Technologist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). 

     b. Additionally, the candidate must have experienced 100 patient encounters after program completion under the direct supervision of a neurologist or physiatrist experienced in electrodiagnostic medicine, preferably an ABEM Diplomate. Please provide the name and email address for the physician whom you worked with for these studies.  A case log is not required.
